The thimble shall be smooth and flat, and there shall be no cracks, defects, sharp edges and uneven surface roughness defects that damage the wire rope. The tip of the ring should fit freely and cut the tip to half the depth of the groove.

The safe load of the collar shall not be less than 32% of the minimum breaking tension of the wire rope.
